WordplayThis past spring saw the emergence of several new literary forms at Mississippi View Farm. Are we a new Mideastern Writers' Cooperative producing advant garde forms? In a way, yes. Except the humans are not taking any credit. Apparently the dogs and the horses have begun expressing themselves in haiku. No one has told them, however, that haiku is seventeen syllables long. Their poetic efforts, while heartfelt, usually fall short. In comparison, feline haikus tend to be much longer and more self-congratulatory.
I see skunk. Skunk
Eew. Bad smell.
Wild eye above fence He sees me! I must bite him.
